October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and since Breast
Cancer Awareness Month, and since breast cancer is the most
common cancer in women in the U.S and the second most
cause of cancer death In women, let talk about 5 Tips for
Good Breast Health.
1. MAINTAIN A HEALTHY WEIGHT- Research suggests that regular exercise can offer protection against Breast Cancer, particularly in Post Menopause. Just 30 minutes a day will do the trick.
2. EAT A HEALTHY DIET- A well balanced diet with plenty of plant foods, fish, and olive oil can decrease the risk of developing breast cancer.
3. QUIT SMOKING – Research says that there is and increased risk of Breast Cancer in women who smoke. Women who started smoking young, and long term smokers, as well as those who smoke cigarettes (yuck) are defiantly at HIGHER RISK. QUIT ASAP.
4. CONSIDER BREAST FEEDING – Besides the great benefits for your child, breastfeeding for one year has been proven to protect against Breast Cancer.
5. TAKE YOUR VITAMINS– Specifically Vitamin D, has been proven to assist with lowering chances of developing Breast Cancer.
6. PAY ATTENTION TO YOUR BODY & SCHEDULE BREAST EXAMS – Women aged 40-49 specifically pay attention If you notice any lumps, and women 50-74 should schedule a mammogram every two years. Take care of yourself you deserve it Queen.
